MANOWAR Announces Select U.S. Headlining Dates, Including Minneapolis February 9

I've been frustrated, too, at the lack of time to be posting more, but here goes some catching up. This news is now a couple weeks old, but any news about over-the-top metal gods Manowar touring in the U.S. is noteworthy. Especially when the dates include a stop at Mill City Nights in Minneapolis on Sunday, February 9. The full list of U.S. dates in support of their forthcoming Kings Of Metal MMXIV, a re-recording of 1988's Kings Of Metal album, is below.

Manowar performing October 22, 1999 in West Hollywood at the Whisky A Go Go.

The advance ticket price of $75 will certainly test the worthiness of the audience! Sure, the price is steep for a club show, but Manowar delivers a one-of-a-kind performance that is seen far too rare. I'll have more to say about this in an upcoming post, but my experience in seeing Manowar in 1999 should lay to rest any reservations you may have about the cost of this show. All I will say for now that you can be assured that the band will bring every possible piece of sound equipment, gear, and lighting that can into the club!

February 7 - Royal Oak, MI, Royal Oak Theatre
February 8 - Chicago, IL, Concord Music Hall
February 9 - Minneapolis, MN, Mill City Nights
February 13 - Atlanta, GA, The Masquerade
February 15 - Houston, TX, House of Blues

February 22 - Pomona, CA, Fox Theatre

Tonight - LORD DYING in Minneapolis

I have no idea how this show escaped my notice until now, but the concert calendar has been updated with tonight's show by Lord Dying at The Nether Bar in Minneapolis. These guys are a cool sludge/doom band from Portland, and their debut album Summon The Faithless recently came out on Relapse. This is one of a handful of headlining shows for Lord Dying on their way home after wrapping up a September tour supporting Valient Thorr and Ramming Speed. Also on the bill tonight are Vulgaari and House Of Atreus. This is an 18+ show and is only $10 at the door, and it gets underway at 8:30.

Check out the official Lord Dying video for "Dreams Of Mercy".

ANATHEMA, ALCEST, and MAMIFFER Pictures

A full concert review is forthcoming, but in the meantime here are the pictures from the epic concert by Anathema, Alcest, and Mamiffer this past Sunday at Mill City Nights in Minneapolis. Dim lighting wasn't working in my favor with the no flash rule from the club, but these pictures capture the mood of the entire evening.
